Will Georgia quarterback start vs. Kentucky?

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart provided an update on quarterback J.T. Daniels on Tuesday.

The Georgia Bulldogs are now the undisputed No.1 team in the nation after they defeated the Auburn Tigers this past weekend and the Alabama Crimson Tide were upset by the Texas A&M Aggies. Now, the Bulldogs look to keep hold of the top spot of the AP Top 25 list with a win over the No. 11 Kentucky Wildcats.

There is some uncertainty surrounding who will start at quarterback for that game, as J.T. Daniels missed the last two weeks due to a strained lat muscle. On Tuesday, head coach Kirby Smart said that Daniels was on a pitch count and was not experiencing any “extensive soreness” this week.

Will J.T. Daniels start for Georgia vs. Kentucky?

Based off Smart’s answer, we are not going to have a full grasp as to what Daniels’ status for the Kentucky game will be until later this week. While Smart says that Daniels has been dealing with less soreness, he is still on a pitch count.

With Daniels missing the past two games, the Bulldogs called upon Stetson Bennett to fill in. In the team’s 37-0 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks, Bennett completed 7-of-11 pass attempts for 72 yards. This past weekend in the 34-10 win over Auburn, the senior threw for 231 yards and two touchdowns while completing 66.7-percent of his passes (14-of-21).

Oh, and Bennett did get the start earlier this year against UAB after Daniels picked up an oblique injury. In that game, Bennett completed 10-of-12 passes for 288 yards and five touchdowns.

So long story short, Bulldogs fans will get an answer as to who will start under center against Kentucky later this week.
