SEC Player of the Week – Abby Marjama, Alabama
SEC Offensive Player of the Week – Alabama’s Abby Marjama, a junior outside hitter from Granite Bay, Calif., averaged 6.19 points and 5.50 kills in the series win over Mississippi State. Marjama recorded 20 kills and 10 digs in the opening match Friday, and followed that with a season-high 24 kills and 10 digs, her third and fourth double-doubles this season. She also recorded five aces against the Bulldogs.
SEC Co-Defensive Players of the Week – Alabama’s Madelyn St. Germain, a graduate libero from League City, Texas, averaged 5.38 digs per set in the series win over Mississippi State. St. Germain posted a season-high 28 digs in the four-set win on Friday.
Florida’s Lauren Dooley, a junior middle blocker from Plano, Texas, averaged 2.17 blocks per set in the two wins at Tennessee. Dooley notched a team-best eight blocks in the opening match against the Lady Vols.
SEC Setter of the Week – Florida’s Marlie Monserez, a junior from Windermere, Fla., averaged 11.67 assists per set in the series win at Tennessee. Monserez recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 36 assists and 12 digs in the second match against the Lady Vols.
SEC Freshman of the Week – South Carolina’s Riley Whitesides, a left side/outside hitter from Greenville, S.C., averaged 4.21 points, 4.00 kills and 1.29 digs per set and posted a .234 hitting percentage in the series split against No. 25 Missouri. In the second match versus the Tigers, Whitesides tallied 18 kills, six digs and two total blocks and hit .316 in the four-set victory.
