The following is one in a series of blogs prepared by the Convention & Visitors Bureaus of the 14 cities that are home to the universities of the Southeastern Conference. These blogs are presented to enhance fans’ enjoyment of the rich history and culture of SEC cities across the 11-state footprint of the Conference.

As the Home of Texas A&M University® and the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, College Station is widely known as one of the most fan-friendly cities in the Southeastern Conference – or anywhere else!

Let’s talk about game day! The on-campus experience surrounding Aggie home football games is like no other in the SEC or the country. Pause your tailgating experience long enough to witness the pregame march-in by Texas A&M’s 2,000-member Corps of Cadets – the university’s largest, oldest, and most visible student organization and leadership training program. Cannon-fire signals “step-off” for the Corps, led by the finest military marching band in the nation, the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band. Then, once you’ve enjoyed all the food, fun, and games outside Kyle Field, make your way into the largest stadium in Texas and one of the five largest in college football! The roar of The 12th Man, the energy from Aggie Yell Leaders, and the stirring sounds from the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band combine to consistently make Texas A&M football a formidable opponent.

Whether you’re on campus for a game or for world-class exhibits, speakers, and performances, your stay in College Station will be a memorable one thanks to unique accommodations, dining, entertainment, and shopping. We’re an easy drive from all major cities in Texas or a quick arrival/departure experience via Easterwood Airport (CLL).

Looking for more to do while you’re here? Your list should include the incomparable Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial collection, the Museum of the American G.I., and our legendary Northgate Entertainment District. If sunshine and fresh air feed your soul, then the nearby trails at Lick Creek Park might be for you, or perhaps our Fun For All Playground specially designed for all ages and abilities. Have a skater boy or girl in your group? Be sure they pack their boards to use at the bowls and long course at G. Hysmith Skate Park.
